Dear all, It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I share today the latest press release from our excellent partner and microchip-supplier Nordic Semiconductor, where they describe how Meshtech applies their award-winning technology in our own brand new cellular IoT product – the MT CloudTracker.
The combined strength of the Nordic Semiconductor technology paired with Meshtech knowledge and innovation has now led to a new product that we can leverage on for many new cases and applications going forward.
The battery capacity of the MT CloudTracker may prove a feature of game-changing quality. R&D Manager of Meshtech, Eirik Aanonsen explains: “Although the Cloud Tracker continuously collects environmental data locally, it only ‘reports in’ to the cloud over cellular every half hour and in doing so can do this for over five years.”
Nordic Semiconductor has also opened up to invite Meshtechs technical team close in on the early stages of testing of the nRF9160 chip – thus creating an inspiring and mutual push forward towards release, and paving the way for new business cases, such as environmental asset tracking.
“Environmental asset tracking is emerging as a prime early use case in industrial IoT,” comments Geir Langeland, Nordic Semiconductor's Director of Sales & Marketing. “This is being driven by a compelling and clear-cut benefits analysis centered around the cost savings that can be made from avoiding lost, wrong, or spoilt consignments, and at the same time reducing the risk of disappointing or even losing valuable end customers.”
As interim CEO I have had the pleasure of working closely with Nordic Semiconductors technical crew preparing this press release together with our R&D Manager Eirik Aanonsen and our Sales & Marketing Leader Hanne Fyrde.
